Description

Description: This essential oil of laurel is derived from the leaves of the laurel plant (Laurus nobilis) through the steam distillation process. The yield ranges between 1 and 3%.

Special Characteristics: Laurel leaf essential oil is a light yellow to yellow liquid. It has a fresh, sweet-spicy aroma with a slight camphor note. The main component is 1,8-cineole. Other compounds found in smaller concentrations include linalool, pinenes, limonene, eugenol, and methyl eugenol.

Applications in Cosmetics: Traditionally, laurel essential oil is used in natural medicine for indigestion, as it is said to have antispasmodic and analgesic effects. Laurel essential oil is also claimed to have antibacterial and antiseptic properties, making it suitable for use in products against acne-prone skin, acne, and even psoriasis.

Due to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties, the cosmetic industry also uses laurel essential oil in its products. Given its revitalizing, nourishing, and mildly moisturizing effect, it is suitable for creams, facial toners, or oils for the care of tired, dry skin, transforming it back into fresh and tender skin.

In aromatherapy, laurel essential oil is said to help address a lack of ideas and mental stimulation.

CAUTION: Always use diluted in a base oil or other solvent.
