Description

Description: Cypress essential oil is obtained from the young branches, cones, and needles of the tree (Cupressus sempervirens) through the steam distillation process.

Special Characteristics: Cypress essential oil is a clear to slightly yellow liquid, with a pine-like aroma. Some of the compounds found in cypress essential oil are alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, alpha-terpinene, bornyl acetate, carene, camphene, cedrol, cadinene, sabinene, myrcene, terpineol, and linalool.

Applications: The therapeutic action of cypress essential oil is primarily astringent. It is used for the treatment of wounds, hemorrhoids (piles), as well as to inhibit excessive sweating (e.g., sweaty feet, menopausal hot flashes). Additionally, it is recommended for coughs and bronchitis. It is beneficial for the liver and ensures its optimal health by regulating proper bile function, while also protecting it from various infections.

In terms of beauty, cypress is one of the best choices for oily skin and hair. It also has a spicy aroma that can easily replace synthetic deodorants.

In aromatherapy, the effect of the aroma of cypress essential oil is soothing. Its scent is usually referred to as balancing, making cypress ideal for use in a diffuser, aiding meditation. It can restore calm to a disturbed nervous system while helping to maintain balance and reminding us to pay attention to our needs.

CAUTION: ALWAYS use diluted in a carrier oil or other solvent.
