Description

Description: Camphor essential oil is obtained from the leaves of the Camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora) through steam distillation.

Special Characteristics: Camphor essential oil is a colorless liquid. It has a strong and spicy aroma accompanied by eucalyptus notes. The main components are 1,8-cineole, pinene, and limonene. In smaller concentrations, camphor, geraniol, pharnesol, and linalool are present.

Applications: The components of camphor essential oil also have medicinal characteristics. Since ancient times, camphor oil has been used in various fields. Camphor and camphor essential oil were often used in traditional Chinese medicine. It is said to have antiseptic properties and is used for chest rubs in colds. It can be applied through inhalation, massage, and as a bath oil.

In aromatherapy, camphor essential oil is used in scented candles and in small quantities in massage oils.

Camphor essential oil is rarely used in cosmetics due to its characteristic medicinal scent. It blends well with bergamot, cassia, mandarin, myrtle, orange, rosemary, and sage.

CAUTION: ALWAYS use diluted in a carrier oil or another solvent.
